Welcome to Logansport High School!
Logansport High School has a rich tradition of excellence that spans over 145 years. This tradition starts with our first graduates at the Mesodian Opera House in 1871 with three students, Ann Covalt, Sallie Horn and Sadie Clendenning.
As a fellow Berry and 1991 graduate, I am truly honored to be principal of my alma mater. From Felix the Cat to the nickname Berries, graduates of LHS have always taken a lot of pride in the uniqueness of being a member of the vast LHS Alumni.
LHS is known as a leader in academics, career preparedness, fine arts and athletics, where our students thrive in all areas. We are proud of our consistently rigorous and challenging curriculum. LHS and the attached Century Career Center work together to build a dynamic comprehensive high school campus to provide for our diverse student body. Due to strong higher educational partnerships with Indiana University, Ivy Tech Community College, Ball State and Trine Universities, LHS students earned 3215 dual credits last year, at a potential college tuition savings of $964,000.
My Goals for Logansport High School are:
• 90% of our students will graduate in four years
• 90% of our students will pass state ISTEP Exams
• 25% of our students will earn 3 or more college dual credits
• 100% of our graduating seniors will be College & Career Ready
On behalf of our Administrative Team, we look forward in working with our great staff to provide a safe and positive learning environment and wonderful educational experience for our students. The success of our students depends on active environment of the entire school community as well as parents. I am confident the LHS Class of 2017 will be leaders well beyond the halls of LHS.
Have a great year and Go Berries!
Mr. Matt Jones
